New Perspectives on World War I, 100 Years Later
Hear from local author Daniel Burstein about how his cousin’s 13-year effort led, in 2015, to a long-overdue posthumous award of the Medal of Honor for Sgt. William Shemin, who was a World War I battlefield hero but passed over at the time due to anti-Semitism. The Museum’s library director, Elizabeth Rose, will also give an overview of our new exhibition, Uncle Sam Wants You: Fairfield and the Great War. Members: Free; Non-Members: $5 suggested donation. Please bring a bag lunch, beverages and dessert will be provided.
