In the early 20th century, the Monadnock region drew artists, performers, and musicians from Boston and New York who brought with them new ideas about theatre and dance. At this talk, learn about Mariarden Theatre, the Out of Door Players, and other groups that staged some of the nation’s most avant garde productions here in the New Hampshire woods. Among the performers that will be highlighted in the talk are Bette Davis, Paul Robeson, and Martha Graham.
The Lunch & Learn hour begins at noon with a selection of wraps and salad, provided by Harlow’s Pub, followed by a fast-paced and entertaining talk over dessert and coffee.
