During World War II the “special relationship” between the United States and Great Britain cemented the alliance that won the war in the West. But the ultimate victory of that partnership has obscured many of the conflicts behind Franklin Roosevelt’s charm and Winston Churchill’s victory signs—namely, the clashes of principles and especially personalities between and within the leadership of the two nations. Open House at the Greenwich Historical Society

Everyone is invited to a free open house on Saturday, Nov. 4: Be there at this historic moment for the Town of Greenwich when we install the cornerstone in the new building, dedicate a time capsule filled with submissions from Greenwich residents, give hard hat tours of the site, present a talk on the changes in store on campus, and invite visitors for a free tour of National Historic Landmark Bush-Holley House. Harmonious Migrations Puppetry Performance & Workshop

A free, inspiring, and educational puppetry performance and workshop lead by Jim Henson’s daughter Heather Henson and her company IBEX Puppetry, Harmonious Migrations playfully explores the co-existence of people and the endangered whooping crane in North America. Developed to teach children ages 5–12 about the interconnectivity of the environment and all species, this program focuses specifically on cranes through puppetry, storytelling, and crafts.
