The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is pleased to announce that it will host author and lexicographer Kory Stamper this summer. Stamper will present a talk on her debut book, Word by Word on July 27 at 7:00 p.m. Rave reviews for Word by Word appear in The Atlantic, Publishers Weekly, and The New York Times. Colonial Child’s Adventure Camp: Session 2!

(Ages 8-12) Boys and girls spend a week exploring life in the 1700s as a colonial child! Activities at both the historic Noah Webster House and the farm at Westmoor Park give campers first-hand experience with the games, fun, and chores of colonial times. During the camp, children become colonial “characters” and help to cook their lunches over an open hearth. They explore Noah Webster’s house and garden, work on crafts, and play games.
